On a sunny day, Penn Rail Videos headed down to the New Hope & Ivyland Railroad, to catch some steam in the snow action before the new year. Bucks County is blanketed with snow, making for some great photography. Today's engineer is none other than Ross Rowland, and the fireman is Glenn Papp. #40 is wearing yet another 3-chime whistle on this visit, this time a Baldwin Locomotive Works 3-chime whistle, owned by fireman Glenn Papp. It is said that #40 might have worn this whistle or a similar whistle when she rolled out of the Eddystone plantin 1925. Nevertheless, it sounds sweet! So sit back, and enjoy some great action from the NH&I crew and some great photography in the snow.

  • Probably best to go from Hood to Lahaska.

  • Is it easy to get from New Hope to Hood while chasing one train?

  • @TNtrainboy15 No way!

  • Nice work and good video. How cold was it that day?

  • @switchstand About 16 degrees that morning.

  • I like the EBT style whistling at the end. I wonder who that could have been.

  • @odlyentertaining Great whistling, indeed.

  • Ross is a great engineer but his whistiling skills are weak!

  • This kind of whistle is on the v&t 25, and this whistle sounds like the roaring camp

  • I really like the sound and color

  • @TNtrainboy15 I have done it without problem, just be prepared to go faster than speed limits.

  • ahhhhhhhhh steam in the snow nothings better !with the steam and smoke condensing ..........its great!:)

  • It's a nice whistle as long as you dont go crazy on it. For some reason it squeaks at full blow. Echoes real nice and plays even nicer, though.

maybe I'll get a hooter on next year :D
