Can we get blu-ray copies of The Gamers and Dorkness Rising? Also, could you upload an HD version of the first movie to tide me over until they're released? Thanks!

The first movie was shot in SD. It would look pretty terrible blown up to HD. But we should put a nice SD version of it on this channel anyway. We have no plans to release a Blu-ray of Dorkness, but it's available for HD download at drivethrurpg.

So far it looks like truncated version of the original movie. Can we expect some unrevealed content in future, maybe?

We're gathering a number of deleted and extended scenes for the upcoming DVD release. The challenge with a youtube release is adapting the film into episodes that are self-contained and easily watched. Aside from the opening credits, the only other significant cut in the web version occurs in the middle of the film. But everything will definitely be on the new DVD, including extended pizzajitsu, the gummi bears scene, Lodge at work, and more.

I am actually a strong believer for the "Story Trumps Rules" argument now thats no lie, it was a good story twist but that wasn't my point. My point was that deciding what to play based on the pitfalls of the game would be player knowledge based decision since if he didn't decide to play it the character wouldn't even be around.

If you absolutely need to know everything that could happen to "your powers" then you are kinda like James T. Kirk doing the Kobayashi Maru test and unwilling to face the "unknown".

A fighter can be "cut off from living", but people still play them.

It seems a little strange to be able to cut off from your god, but being all-knowing as a player is pretty bad, because it destroys the sense of mystery. Knowing which spells are in the game is bad enough already, but I guess that cant be prevented. DMs should be allowed to improvise a bit and it all boils down to:

DO YOU TRUST YOUR DM to leave a chance for winning in there or not?

Not necessarily, because there is the possibility that they aren't aware of being cut off from their god. Although judging by the way the hieraphant cut off Osric that doesn't seem to be the case.

You bring up an interesting point! This question actually goes deeper than is ever revealed in the film. Check out the new Pathfinder module for the answer as to how this happened.

But wouldn't that also be character knowledge?

If a cleric could be cut off from their power, don't you think that would have been a normal piece of knowledge for every character in the order to know?

And how exactly does one cleric cut off another cleric from their god? They are both mortals of an equal level so this is just ridiculous.

I disagree. Story only trumps rules under tacit agreement of player and DM. Both players agree to abide by the rules, they don't agree to abide by arbitrary and capricious rules created by the DM that the player never agreed to and would never have agreed to had they known of them. If the DM wants to deviate from the agreed to rules they need the agreement of the player affected first. That is only fair and just.
