This is the trailer for "The World's Fastest Indian". A wonderful movie with (Sir) Anthony Hopkins as Burt Munroe, a New Zealander who built his 1920 Indian Scout Motorcycle into the fastest motorcycle (under 1000cc) at the bonneville flats in Utah in 1962. Burt Munroe is a genuine local hero. (http://www.worldsfastestindian.com).

  • Great movie. Highly recommended.

  • I think Anthony Hopkins is Welsh? I don't know.. somewhere from the UK.. but he portrayed the New Zealand accent perfectly... thats what they sound like in the South Island.

  • burt monroe..said (well in the movie at least) ' if you don't follow your passion, you may as well be a vegetable.' Such an amazing man!!!

  • How is the second song?

  • i like this movie real good

  • @fergus1494 Thanks,I might just do that. The dreaded wing effect....

  • @sunonthewindow one last thing mate.. google burt munro letters also, very interesting stuff. "183.58 mph. That set a record in the category of "streamlined motorcycles under 1,000cc." To qualify, he made a one-way run of 190.07 mph, the fastest ever officially recorded speed on an Indian." he also got over 190 from memory in an officially timed non official run.. an interesting note is it took years for burts ohv config to go as fast as his sidevalve engine

  • @sunonthewindow They actually banned burt before his last planned trip as with the bike getting faster they found it just to risky to let him run, after that burts health went downhill a bit, he lost co ordination and sold his indian frame in usa also he locally sold his velocette (also held a landspeed record) and indian with another frame locally. The frame in us has an engine made from spare parts. Burts under 1k record has been frozen so you cant beat it even if you officially beat it..

  • @saltydog45 that was actually because of the poorly designed fairings that generated uplift mate. so whenever they put the power down the aerodynamics of the bike would put the front wheel into the air. You need to read the books about Britten also mate. the doco's slightly bend the truth.. the bike wasnt toying with the dukes at all, sadly they couldnt get past them and 2nd place most the time. but farout it was a bloody amazing achievement! once fairings where redesigned the bike really went

  • A portion of the doco is on YouTube as part of an old Top Gear Programme.Just copy and paste in to the search pane: Top Gear: Britten V1000 Racing Motorcycle
