I had the great honor of training with Sensei Chinen on several different occasions. One of my fondest memories is that of having him observe and instruct a performance of Saifa (I must have been about fourteen at the time).
I haven't seen Sensei for several years, and his vigor does seem to have diminished since my days in Goju-Ryu. The man is a living treasure for Karatekas and should be cherished as much as possible while he is still with us.
i have trained wth sensei chinen myself and now he he doesnt have a his right leg, it ws amputated due to diabetes.
