Interactive wall. http://naturalinteraction.org
This is done for casual users in public spaces, where interaction is rather short (seconds? a few minutes?)... The key in such situations is the intuitiveness of interaction, and its capability of catching people attention. Based on computer vision.

  • Where's our goddamn hoverboards!

  • @jp3813 hahaha

  • Completely FAKE. Images aren't moving based on hand gestures at ALL.

Instead, what's REALLY happening here, is that it's all pre-programmed, and the guy practices how he should move his hands.

In some cases, the pictures even move BEFORE the guy moves his hand.

    FAKE !

  • No, it is not fake. Thousands of people used the system. It was back in 2004, so I have no commercial/whatever interest in writing this (I never sold this system, by the way, it was only a research prototype). Your (wrong) impression is due to the fact that the system was touchless, i.e. sensed the user hand also at some distance (about 25cm) from the screen surface. Regards and compliments for your deep insight in interactive technology.

  • this is touchless

  • Right! It's for public spaces, short and intense interaction experiences...

  • I always knew someday someone would invent what Tom Cruise used in MR. Nice to know someone is evolving technology to achieve it already, though it's in the "wright bros flyer" stage right now.

  • they have smthin like that in japan but waaaayy cooler!

  • its more easy using the kinect XD

  • Fake? What a stupid-ass thing to say. This technology is very current and is being used in limited fashion. It's a "PROTOTYPE" of what was used in Minority Report, which was indeed "faked" but the real technology exists!

  • @a1mint dumbass

  • HOLY SH*T. I WANT THAT IN MY HOUSE. THUMBS UP IF YOU AGREE.

  • @a1mint Go over to ted.com and look up John Underkoffler, he's the inventor of the Minority Report data interface. It is 100% real, and he even says within 5 years when you buy a computer it will come with one.

  • alevalli is right
