Chinese government statistic show that nearly 30 percent of China's land mass is covered by desert, and the desert is growing. Environmentalists say the loss of farmland to desertification affects the livelihoods of millions of people, and has a severe impact on China's economy.

The Kumtag is China's sixth largest desert. And state media reports it is creeping closer and closer to the city of Dunhuang in China's far West -- creeping at a rate of between one and four meters each year. Ninety percent of the city has already surrendered to desertification.

China's State Forestry Administration says the advance of the desert results in a direct annual loss of billions of dollars, while threatening the livelihoods of some 400 million people. But it is not just a problem for remote farmers. The Gobi Desert stretches from Mongolia to within 240 kilometers of Beijing.
This highlights a growing problem in China -- large tracts of land in the country's arid western provinces are turning from farmlands into deserts.

Why do you want to "fix" what God already has a better answer for? Why should we subscribe to your religion of pagan radical "environmentalism," or whatever -ism you wish to say it is?

Pronatalism is the simple elegant answer, too simple for secular "educated" minds to understand. It answers What do we do to bring the pop under control? Uh, nothing. How do we enforce it? We don't.

If only perfect parents had children, the human race would have went extinct long ago. Don't you know it takes at least around a billion births a decade, just to maintain our present human pop size? I agree with people of India reproducing babies naturally like rabbits, as quite many people do not believe in using birth control. I welcome Muslims to reproduce like baby factories. But why just them? So they can take over the world? The body's reproductive system should be respected like other vital systems, to do its thing. The world can clearly hold, or be made to hold, far more people. Whether we supposedly "need" more people, isn't that somewhat irrelevant? As we speak, each second, another 4 or 5 babies are born. It's not something we can reasonably "control." Our ancestors thought family size to be "uncontrollable." Considering how awful the shoddy contraceptives are, it should still be called uncontrollable

The world should hold 8 billion and more, so that there can be place for everybody

In some sense, of course most countries already have "more than enough" people. We are already so dense, we need to have indoor flush toilets, to properly and sanitarily process the rising rivers of human wastes flowing in the sewers hidden under our growing cities. But what's wrong with having the convenience of toilets?

But when you consider the sacred immense value of each and every human life, and most people want or end up having children, reasons to GROW become clearer

Another reason why we must respect people's rights to have children, is that human childbearing is a natural force of nature that is hard to control, and steadily grows more and more "uncontrollable," the more populous and youthful populations get. So get out of the way and let human numbers rise naturally!

I welcome poor countries, Asia, Africa, everybody to naturally raise their numbers, for the greater good of the many. More human lives trumps a otherwise spacious planet.
