Flowers for the Dead A Look Back
For the past Two years Joe Barbarisi has been working on his own Zombie short "Flowers for the DEAD" which has been shot in classic Super 8 (B&W) and is just about done with post production. Its a tribute to the Zombie/Ghoul films or Mr Romero and the classic NOTLD with some touches of Savini's 1990 NOTLD.
To give this approx 45 min film some charm, and novelty i headed to the famous "Evans City Cemetery' in P.A. to film some scenes at the cemetery where it all started. I also did some 'frame by frame' shots used in the original NOTLD to get the feel of this classic cemetery.
The rest of the film has been shot here in New Jersey (Westwood,Ridgewood)
and have only a few more days to film the last few scenes to wrap it up, including the films finale with the large numbers of the Living dead Closing in on our star, whos looking for a way out of the cemetery.
here is are look back at the making of Flowers for the Dead
