  • I am an industrial designer and spend a lot of time on 3d CAD software.

I had the same problem years ago, and switched to the Logitech Trackman FX.

Unfortunately Logitech discontinued it long ago. Take a look on Ebay.

For the ultimate tablet, look at the Cintiq. They are expensive, but they rock for photo editing and sketching.

  • @eiger003 I'd love a Cintiq, but the Mrs. would KILL me if I spent that kinda dough on a tablet. :-)

  • I actually get wrist paint from using a bamboo, is there anyway to solve this? Well not really pain, but its just not too comfortable because of the slope on the edge of it

  • @jwdesign336 - try raising the tablet by placing something under it, or raising your wrist by getting one of those little gel wrist supports (you can get them pretty much anywhere in the computer section for a few bucks ... i.e. walmart)

  • Art of the Image Recommended Photography Gear List link doesn't work for me

  • @anthonyhuynyh - Hmmm... google's url shortener has disabled the link. What the heck!?! I've swapped it out for the full link so it should work now.

  • I fortunately don't get wrist pain, and I use a mouse. However, I also own a Wacom Bamboo (Fun), and I can vouch for its helpfulness when drawing, painting, and editing pictures on your computer. With the mouse, it's pretty much impossible to draw well, but the Bamboo makes is really easy. It's also pressure-sensitive so you can make dark and wide brush strokes, or light and thin brush strokes depending on how hard you push. Still, for web browsing, I prefer my mouse.

  • I have a graphics tablet (just a cheap one by Trust) that I use for some image editing such as removing backgrounds around people, etc. They are a lot more accurate than a mouse and generally easier to use for this sort of work, but as you said, may take a while to get used to.

However, I do still use a traditional mouse for general use.

  • Greetings!

Can You Make A Video About...,

Getting Out Of Auto Mode? ;-)
