Part 1 of the music from King's Valley II, Konami's classic puzzle game. I recorded the music before - as a request - and this was the start of all my other game music videos. I wanted to redo it, though, and do it right. The titles of the individual songs, however, are made up; I could not find an official playlist of this game's music and I didn't want to settle with "BGM 01", "BGM 02", etcetera.

The soundtrack, 15 mp3 (192kbs) tracks long, can be downloaded here:

Part 2: http://youtube.com/watch?v=9HMy4qbGbjU

The music for this game was composed by Masahiro Ikariko. The game uses Konami's custom sound chip called SCC (Sound Custom Chip), a 5-channel chip that compliments the 3-channel PSG chip of the MSX computer system.

  • next pyramid is actually "in search of the secret spell," At least thats the name michiru yamane uses when she remixes it for castlevania portrait of ruin. While its cool too hear the original, The remix is really, really good and captures that song's spirit perfectly.

  • I know. I was in doubt about giving it this title, but I decided against it. That title belongs to the Castlevania adaption, but not the original.

Often, the songs of a game's music are given titles when they are released as a separate soundtrack by the game company. King's Valley II is just one from the large group of games that never got one.

I like Yamane's remix, but I wonder what brought her to borrow Ikariko's work in the first place.
