@wacker1983 I can only assume so. I work in MRI and I don't really know of any other high powered super conducting magnets in usage for SBSL. I could be wrong tho

@MrAnderson234 highest tesla ever or applied on SBSL?
-
@wacker1983 The highest tesla available is only 9 at university of Ohio...

@Syrupbuddie wow

@sbeer6er That's a good question. You'll be surprised of how many scientists with Ph d's have never heard of it. I'm not sure why it's not as well known but anyway, SBSL- single bubble sonoluminescence.. The bubble is a cavitation bubble (radius of 5~50 microns) that expands and rapidly contracts due to positive and negative pressures in the anti node of an ultrasonic standing wave, releasing energy in the form of light (photons). fyi, SBSL was discovered by a grad student at Ole Miss in 1990.

Can someone please do a sonoluminescence equation for me, i need it for my physics assignment thanks :)

for the lay person, what is a Sonoluminescent bubble?

The origin of the observed effects, possibly due to magnetic field-induced anisotropies in the SL bubble, will be discussed in light of our recent anisotropy studies under magnetic fields."

Further study of the SL bubble through the measurement of the phase of the emitted radiation relative to acousticdrive shows a large increase in phase under magnetic fields. These results suggest that the bubble grows significantly in size and that there may be a substantial modification of bubble dynamics under magnetic field.
-
Further increase in the magnetic field leads to the destruction of the bubble through dissolution. At a constant magnetic field, the light intensity is found to increase roughly linearly with increasing sound pressure until the bubble disappears above a cut-off pressure which depends on the strength of the magnetic field. The cut-off pressure is found to approximately double between 0 and 20 T.
why isn't there more vids on youtube about Sonoluminescence.I think its damb interesting. expetially the processes that go on at the center of the bubbles collapse

Sonoluminescence occurs at ultrasonic frequencies. You can't hear it. Unless you're a bat.
