@KeiraD10 I assumed this show was a parody of all the kitsch that's been fashionable in recent years, the "action movie boy chorus", the overly earnest action poses, the bad dialog, the gay character who has that gay look but no one notices it (like the schtick they used on "The Fabulously Gay Duo", "What? You don't see it?"). The stock pretty girl. But no, apparently this is as serious as the Star Wars Prequels. Bizarro. Maybe Terrence McKenna is right about patterns and a coming singularity...

I'd like to point out that the Doc has used a gun MANY times before. In Earthshock he gunned down several Cybermen at point-blank range without hesitation, here he's shooting the grav globe.

Yes. He holds and uses a gun. As someone commented, he has in MANY o his regens, particularly Colin Baker's time (no pun intended). He's The Doctor, not MacGyver.
