1971 Cutlass Exhaust Cutouts

Exhaust cutouts on my 1971 Cutlass. All I have to do is pull a lever and I run open headers. As you can see, there are dual pipes on each side of the car. 1 pipe functions as open headers, the other with glasspack mufflers.

hey i have 2 71s any neither has them 2 knobs on the left of the steering wheel. what are those? the choke?

@mmcutty71 Those knobs are for the exhaust cutouts, opens up a valve in the collector

I eventually got rid of them because it sounded like I had a constant exhaust leak due to the valve not sealing properly.

Electric cutouts are the way to go!

what kinda system do you have for the open exhaust ? I like the lever pulling much better than a remote that breaks down
