I made this in 2003 with a Sony miniDV camera (PD-100). The suit was bought for 25 bucks at a pawn shop in Berkeley, CA. The gun is an airsoft pistol from Don...which we broke when we dropped in the clip. This took 3 days to shoot at two locations including a Uhaul storage place and Don's apartment parking lot. All natural lighting and a micro jib. Edited in After Effects. Coloring was done with Red Giant's film looks fx. It was shot in 4:3 format standard definition, but I don't like the side bars in YouTube so I resized it to 16:9 720HD...so it will be kinda fuzzy.

The music was created with Reason 2.0 by me...as you can tell it's no musical masterpiece, but I was just interested in creating a minimal melody with lots of drum hits for the purpose of editing. Overall, I am satisfied with the results.

I wanted to load this to show that you can make fun and creative videos with consumer level miniDV cameras and some software knowledge. I hope it gives you ideas and inspiration to go mess around with your little camera. Good luck and have fun!

Thanks to Steve Lee, Don Engel, and Theo (the person who plays the government agent in this video) for helping me make this for my demo reel DVD.

  • face it its 100% video edit and 0% actual fight

  • @lanirulez - uh...yeah. Thanks for pointing that out. You don't know the difference between real life vs. movies? WTF?

  • @matreyia Dear mr/mrs as the convention for human rights gives us the privilege to have freedom of speach, I by the rights given to me by the authority have the right of "pointing out the obvious". If such a thing is not accepted in your country i apologise.

  • @lanirulez -"human rights gives us the privilege to have freedom of speach, I by the rights given to me by the authority have the right of "pointing out the obvious".

Yes you're right, so I have the right to point out the obvious absurdity of your first comment. That's a cutesy reply you made... but please try to stay focused and avoid stating things that are irrelevant to the matter.

If I had said anything remotely related to "freedom of speech" then your reply would've been appropriate.

  • is that wing chun guy waring a ninja costume????

  • @3286headshot - nope...it's a $25 used scuba suit.

  • badass video. and yes, wing chun is among the best styles but it is the artist that makes the art, not the other way around.

  • @tranglomango thanks for that intelligent comment.

  • @naruto360X1 - Yep, and that is also fake Tiger style too in case you also wanted to point this out.

  • those kicks are a bit too high

  • Nice work, this reminds me of Bomfunk Emcee's Uprocking Beats, another sick vid.

  • While I don't know much about Tiger style, I do study Wing Chun and also film and I like how really well executed the moves are in this. Strong centreline, nice dai sau/punches in that side shot, nice bong sau placement, chain punches, even the way you handled getting up off the floor... Just the way Wing Chun should be presented in a film medium. You've inspired me by putting two of my passions into one so elequently. Thank you.
