Why is Ash so stupid, he knows that a Electric pokemon never wins against a ground pokemon.

He had to use Glalie,Squirtle,Bulbasaur,Bayl­eef or Sceptile to fight against Excadrill, because ice,water and grass pokemon are strong against ground pokemon.

Snivy and Oshawott are to weak at the moment to win from Excadrilll, and Totodile also not, he is weak to.

@96Scipio Yeah i agree with you opinion about his age, but what also is weird is that Ash was a great pokemontrainer in Hoenn and Sinnoh.

The weird thing here is that Ash is the same bad trainer as in the begin of his journey at the Indigo region.

And what is weird to is that Ash loses all the skills he had in the Hoenn and Sinnoh region

Iris has had Excadrill for a lot longer than Ash has had Pikachu(seeing as Ash hasn't aged at all while Iris was considerably smaller when she met Drillbur). Just as Ash has trained a lot with Pikachu, other people do to with their partners, I bet Cress's Panpour is really experienced for example. Also, it'd be downright unrealistic for Pikachu to beat Excadrill with those moves, though I don't mind if he gets payback later.

there are no levels in the show people only in the game. that is it now QUIT COMPLAINLING ABOUT LEVELS AND WATCH THE SHOW (or dont i dont care)

This is just dumb. Why can't the writers make him 14-16, and actually be experienced/skilled? If they need him to lose in matches, make it against Elite 4, Frontier Brains, or other trainers that have spent years on regional tournament circuit. I didn't mind him losing to Paul because Paul went through the other regions just like Ash.

However powerful or whatever advantage Excadrill has, Ash shouldn't be losing to Iris, especially with Pikachu...
