SUMMARY
From K.R. Niver: In a set of a barbershop, a number of men are either waiting for the barber or being shaved. The shop is in the basement and has sidewalk-level windows. As the film progresses, the feet and legs of passerbys can be seen by the occupants of the barbershop. Just as the film is ending, two females walk by the window. They stop and, as they do, the men in the barbershop evidence excitement by doing ridiculous things or nudging one another with their elbows (p. 359). According to Edison film historian C. Musser, photographs show William Heise making the film. Since Heise had retired by late 1898--the copyright date--this film was most likely produced at the end of 1897, while producer James White was on tour.
