No, they're not robots; but were named "bio" robots, because they are biological beings, given to do a robot's job.

The real robot's electrical and mechanical systems malfunctioned from the massive amounts of radiation they were exposed to, so these men courageously volunteered to do the robot's job. Many of these men died because of their devotion to their country and their fellow man.

They are not ROBOTS, ... they are HEROES! And we all owe them a debt of gratitude.....

  • They didn't do it for glory or money.

    Heroes, every one of them.

  • Only one word: heroes. Thank you BIOROBOTS.

  • @mudylafeet If you just want to irradiate Tony Blair, The shrub, Rumsfeld, Wolfowitz and Netanyahu; a cause to which I'm sympathetic(though I'd add Robert Rubin, Dick Fuld, Cheney, Henry Kissinger, Bernanke, Greenspan, Obama, most US congress critters, EU commissioners etc.) there are much easier ways; the cobolt-60 sources they use to sterilize hospital food for instance. Radiotherapy machine could be fun too; you could target small volumes of brain tissue and lobotomize them without surgery.

  • @mudylafeet Chernobyl jetisoned some of the contents of the core outside and on-top of the reactor. These people are moving chunks of graphite moderator, fuel elements and other highly radioactive debris so that other people can work near the reactor. At Fukushima no such thing exists; some of the fuel overheated and lost integrity, and some volatile fission products boiled off. As long as the fuel can be kept cool at Fukushima there's no urgency; just wait out the short-lived stuff.

  • @RonRay "robot" = Russian for "worker"

  • today at fukushima they should use these bio-robots: tony blair, g bush, rumsfeld, wolfowitz, neten-yahoo, et al, i'm sure many more can fit this list, any 1 care to add?

  • It is a rare thing to see badassery of this level caught on film.

  • In that doco you saw glimpses where guys were picking up huge bricks/chunks of graphite with their hands!

This graphite was what the rods sat in.

  • real heroes

  • If you want to see a great documentary on this, goodle video has one called "The real battle of Chernobyl" its very good, and free of course. I recommend it.
