  • I did enjoy this episode, but what is with Steven Moffat, and all the parent-power episodes lately? I'm a parent, and I have to say we are not always Super Heroes. I mean I am, but most aren't. Is it me or has anyone else noticed that too?

  • @puregeen Good point. The boy actually mentioned that he liked the bombings. He said he found them exciting.

  • No offense to him but the ginger kid was the shittest actor. Like you said he does all this stuff without blinking one eye and it's like his cute big glasses are supposed to make up for him not reacting to ANYTHING. Also why did the Doctor get them this present in the first place? If time was still going forward in this world then surely if they went into the present on christmas morning like he planned, the acid rain would have completely burned them to shit the second they got there

  • I so enjoyed this special. It was very Christmas. When I first heard of the episode I thought it was brilliant. The world like Narnia would make a great backdrop for a Doctor Who story. Seeing it just blew my mind. Better then I ever hoped. I wished I had an extra tap for softdrinks. Now that would be Christmas.

  • it was terrible. it start from him escaping form a destoryed spaceship and that his able to somewhat survive in space for a few second without any effect? intruder alert after it blows up?wtf!! oh yeah the suit protected him. how? and i know it can heal him but the suit was completely undamage!

the soliders at the end leave the mom and doesnt even care if they die or not. the doctor doesnt end up protecting the planet and at the end the mother is able to save her husband but not the other guy?

  • I once stabbed myself in the eye because everyone had told me not to do it but no one had explained to me what the consequences were. So I stabbed myself with a colored pencil and I didn't even flinch while doing it. It's not about instincts when you're little. You're not scared until someone tells you to be.

  • gorgeous review :) had me giggleing all the way through <3

but i just wanted to say am i the only one who thought Alexander Armstrong was incredible in this episode?? i mean, i havent seen any of his serious acting before, just his and Ben Miller's sketch show but that "Im sorry my love" and the depth of the relationship between him and marge shown in just a couple of minutes was so beautiful <3

  • @DragonflyNoir10 I'm not sure if it will be with Jenny, but I've been reading up and re-watching recent episodes and I'm pretty sure that at some point they're going to do something with the Doctor-dad thing. Especially since in the last two seasons whenever Amy asked the Doctor whether or not he has/had kids he looks uncomfortable and changes the subject.

I really hope they do something with that, because it would be great character development for the Doctor.

  • @juttezak Actually, I hope you’re. I would love them to revisit that storyline!

  • @DragonflyNoir10 I noticed it too, but since it has been mentioned several times that the Doctor is/was a dad (and also with Jenny still running around) I think that's going to play a bigger part in the coming season(s)

  • I already found the kid strange from the beginning so that he crawled into that box without being scared didn't surprise me.

The ending did make me tear up, especially when Amy was like 'Don't you get that we love you, you silly goose?' (she didn't say it like that, but you get my point)

  • Lauren, you didn't know what the word was called?

    The word is Gryffindor.
