Chant group Psallentes, with a performance of a very small part of the hymn O lux beata Trinitas. The five singers are, from left to right, Conor Biggs, Lieven Deroo, Philippe Souvagie, Hendrik Vanden Abeele and Paul Schils. Sixth singer Pieter Coene could not be present at this particular occasion.
Chant group Psallentes was founded by Hendrik Vanden Abeele in 2000, with the aim to explore the performance practice and the repertoire of late medieval plainsong.
Recorded at Carolus Borromeus church, Antwerp, Belgium.

  • Very well done. i love chants like this, get you in the right mood, for peace or mediatation. Being a roman Catholic, I am sad that we do not hear them in America very often. Pre-Vatican II churches had many good qualities but now, we have a few modern views which I guess helps the public understand better.
