America, I'm Jacquelyn Rochell...and I'm intently determined to position myself so that I can present positive, inspiring, and educating views and perspectives on life, living, loving, health, and wealth in America!
I've listened to and watched Dr. Cosby's comments about the African-American...the African-Americans who have lost their way...those who have misplaced or have never understood their purpose, responsibilities or priorities...
As a matter of fact...Bill Cosby, Barack Obama, the late Thurgood Marshall are three of my most greatest inspirations for writing Move Beyond the Colored Line...Racial Discrimination is a large part of America's Race and Equality Problem...The Other Part of the Problem is YOU.
I applaud and support Bill Cosby's comments. I feel that IT IS TIME...The truly advantaged in this country stop complaining about the disfunctionalities of Americans and start modeling, teaching and educating again!
Naming our child(ren) should be as important a decision as the decision we made to bring that child or children in this world!
Just a few weeks ago...the civil rights' movement icon Rev. Jessie Jackson was capture on a live mic criticizing Barack Obama for standing-up and speaking candidly and responsibly to African-Americans about our responsibilities and priorities! What did Barack Obama say that was wrong? What did he say that was demeaning, denigrating, or berating to African-Americans? Nothing!
There are internal deficiencies that must be addressed and dealt with...the first thing that MUST happen WITHIN the African-American community is an "INTERNAL CHECK" on self-accountability. Taking OWNERSHIP of the GOOD, the BAD, and the UGLY that's happening internally in our communities...and proactively and consciously STEPPING-UP to correct and prevent a relapse.
It's TIME to TAKE A REAL good look at the man, woman, and child in the mirror!
I think that there is NO BETTER person or GROUP of PEOPLE to do those INTERNAL CHECKS than the TRULY ADVANTAGED...
We SHOULD be the models, examples, and the vehicles to INSPIRE, EDUCATE, MOVE all of our brothers and sisters forward. We have to remember and forever be reminded that to be pro-African-American doesn't mean anti-white or anti-American!
