@Sleyt707 I'm aware that Michael and Chris are the songwriters.

Doesn't change the fact that a change to the band's dynamics did come with their vocalist change. And it wasn't necessarily for the better. They're more melodic, but they've lost the heavy technical riffs and everything that made them Melodic DEATH METAL. Listen to "No Gods, No Masters" off the new album, strip it of the vocals, and you've got Within Temptation's next single.

@MsMetalNote I don't get why he never showed much vocal range on Black Earth and Stigmata. He showed much better range and variety in his past bands (Furbowl and Carnage) and during live performances. He did a lot better on Burning Bridges though.

Also, Johan brought a certain "raw edge" to the band's sound that Angela completely fails to deliver. Gossow-era Arch Enemy sounds like sterilized crap (as this cover perfectly demonstrates)

@KHfan4ever23 both are good, johan gives it a more old schoold sound , actually his voice souds like the singer from Benediction but i also love angelas voice...i must say Amott owns at guitar \m/

Johan's voice just always bothered me, because had zero vocal range. It felt sort of... monotonous, I suppose, after a minute or two.
