Stratovarius is not dead, they posted a statement about this just recently, although Timo Tolkki will be with them no more, the rest of the band members are still together, check their website or myspace for the exact details on it

"Timo has formed a new band called REVOLUTION RENAISSANCE the debut album will be named "New Era" and will be released on June 6th 2008. Great video, dude. I find it really sad. It's so hard to hear all those Strato classics and think that they are no more with us. The most sad for me is the end of the video, with The Last Night on Earth, I was waiting for the new album when I knew about this.

I have heard some of the RR stuff, and it's good, but that's not what I want.
