Buddy Holly Lives! video - Trio from Kingston, Ontario who have been faithfully recreating Buddy Holly, Joe B. Mauldin and Jerry Allison as Buddy Holly and the Crickets since 1999. Their show pays homage to these three stellar musicians who were the world's most popular rock n' roll band in 1958. Buddy Holly is known as the father of rock n' roll. Elvis, The Beatles, The Stones, Springsteen and many musicians since credit him with being the creative genius who shaped modern music and died before his 23rd birthday in a tragic plane crash on February 3, 1959.

  • Me and my father seen these guys live and it was very memorable for us both..dad is passed now but we always hoped we could see them just 1 more time...It was the funnest time I ever had with my dad.....A great night on the town with my daddy!

  • @MsDoors33 Thank you for sharing that. Where did you see us? It's stories like these that make me love doing this. My Dad died in 2008 and I am so glad he got to see this before he died. He was in tears saying "when did you learn to play like that?" it was pretty funny and I remember that time now when I think of him. Thank you.

  • when I first saw this, i thought good cover band but robbing from a dead musician. but i was wrong in thinking that. I didnt take into thought of how we were robbed of Buddy all those years ago. and in a way, anf these guys are simply trying (and in a way succeeding) of keeping Buddy Holly alive in a sense.they do this, and they do it well. and I am a fan! after serious thought, I applaud what these guys do!

  • Thanks - That means a lot to us and hopefully Buddy will get his due in history where he was deprived in life.

    Your Buddy, Otis

  • F A N T A S T I C ¡ ¡ ¡ ¡ ¡ ¡ ¡ ¡ ¡ ¡

  • Thanks for posting. Elvis, Eddie, Ritchie Buddy all greats. Nobody these days comes close.

  • How about all the 1000s of people who were robbed of the real Buddy? Don't we deserve a chance to see somebody do a great imitation of it?

imitation is the ultimate compliment and also helps bring a small taste of a live show we'll never get to see.

They aren't deceiving anyone, we know its not the 'real deal' but we appreciate the extension of a legend and the chance to see a great perfromance, unfortunately there's a pretty big pond between me and Canada so i'll have to settle for the vid

  • Brings tears to my eyes watching this. Having been a truck driver, I have been to Lubbock, TX hundreds of times. Just being there in Lubbock, thinking about how maybe Buddy stood where I was standing....I'm so happy to see such a wonderful tribute by nothing less than musical geniuses. I've been covering Buddy's songs for years, but I never did them justice. Just trying to keep the memory alive. Keep up the great work!

  • @JeevesReturns The video is from 2001, the band is still playing to sold out houses ten years later. I think they've made progress since then... lol

  • He's over doing it and it's not very good. Nice Attempt, though
