@Pinin500 Still, you cannot deny that its a german car. the engine and suspension is all VW. and still its great fun to drive, and not dull. and no, you cant put all that down to the looks of the car. (the Golf Mk1 isn't ugly, but its not really a looker either. The Corrado for example looks much better.

@tim1polman ; The VW Golf MK1 and Scirocco were both penned by Italian maestro Giorgietto Giugiaro
who was at Bertone then set up on his own as ITALDESIGN, which ironically has just been bought out by VW.
The MK1 Golf is an Italian design just like the Aston Martin DB5 (touring of Milan).....ciao
