It's all about the money man! They were all making money off that album. That's why they were all so happy. When they stopped making money off that album is when they turned their backs on Perry. Sad but true.

Steve didn't leave they kicked him out because he wouldn't run to have surgery right away. They should have been more understanding.I know whats its like to have sugery so I don't blame Steve for trying to find another way. They waited all those years to get back together they couldn't wait a little longer. There lost.

It's a shame the TBF tour didn't go off because it would've been bootlegged like crazy. Even today, Journey is probably the most bootlegged band.

Seems like Schon's parents just let him run wild-skipped school, dropped out and joined Santana at 15-and even now, when you listen to interviews, he sounds like a 15 year old uneducated kid talking. Brilliant guitarist, but seems to not have grown personally one whit in 40 years. And what is he on now, his 4th or 5th marital breakup? Megan 0239-right on! Funny how Revelation is one whole CD of SP covers, with the other being the new music-and only one of those songs was a minor hit-cover band!

Such a shame. They seemed to feed off of one another when they're writing and recording. Unfortunately, Neil lacks normal social skills.

A question I have had, too. Herbert in his nasty interviews made some comments about Perry having had a contract about them rerecording songs that he had done/written, etc. How he had to give permisson for the 2001 Las Vegas concert recording with Augeri which led to the VH1 special. So how does that work? I know there are performance royalties, album sales royalties-but does he really get anything from the new recordings of his songs they have done? Hope he does-he co-wrote most all of them!

Sometimes I wonder...maybe he's bipolar! He's said the most complimentary things about Steve Perry, then before you know it he's jamming a knife in the back! GREAT guitarist, no doubt about it; people skills?---needs some work!

they are nothing without perry

Ross's comment about how "most bands who reunite rely on their past popularity,a few studio cuts and live recordings, but we didn't blah blah blah" was interesting. Soooo back then that was baaad, but NOW it's good....weird. I like Steve Smith,he seems like a very genuine and good guy.
Steve Perry is the voice of Journey. Unfortunately, they now are constantly hiring and losing their lead singers. Journey is now trying to reap in the benefits of the legacy that Steve left behind. Steve can and will go on at his own pace without them backing him up, but they cannot go anywhere without THE VOICE

I completely agree....The Journey of now is more like a tribute band...Riding on the coat tails of Steve Perry...They need to give it up...They have destroyed Journey's legacy..
