MAX, IAGO & BENI -- El cor de la ciutat, ep. 1566

SCENE 1 (Max & Iago): They are having breakfast at Peris'. Iago understands why Beni is in such a mood against him but Max tells his boyfriend not to take defense on him. According to Max, his father has become a jerk. Iago hopes they'll be able to move and live on their own soon but Max isn't that optimistic. It's Iago's first day work; Max is going to the University library to bring some books back and he will return home to study since Beni will be at the office. Later, they will meet at Beni's to have lunch. Iago seems quite optimistic about his first day at the warehouse and so does Max.

SCENE 2 (Beni, Ivan & Max): Beni and Ivan are studying the plans of Can Sarró. Max arrives. Beni asks him why is he home so soon. Max thought he will be at the office until lunchtime so he could study at home without anyone to bother him. Then Beni sends Max to his bedroom: he has bought a very expensive desk and Max has not used it yet. He expects Max to obey him since he has paid all the furniture and is the one who earns money.

SCENE 3 (Beni, Max & Iago): Max "asks permission" to have lunch in the lounge... or maybe Beni will send him again to his bedroom, grounded like a little boy? They both start to argue until Iago arrives (Beni was complaining about him). He had a good day and he has to return in two hours time. He suggests Max to have lunch at Peris'. But Max insists they can stay at home. Beni feels he's only good to prepare lunch and pay the bills. Max can't stand anymore his father talking about money. Iago and Max leave.

SCENE 4 (Beni, Clara & Iago): Iago wants to apologize and tries to make things up with Beni. He has always been honest to Max and loves him. He has a job now and he will be able to afford a new place soon. He asks Beni to be patient. But neither Beni nor Clara are understanding (Clara still believes Berta's death is Iago's fault) and Iago accuses Clara of his mother's death. Then Beni slaps him.

We were all waiting for the final Iago & Clara argument to come, I guess. A tough one, really bitter. I liked Marc Clotet's acting very much.

Efectivamente, excelentes actores (incluido Santi Ibáñez/Beni, que me cargaba un poco al principio pero está transmitiendo muy bien la rabia de su personaje, y en lo que se está convirtiendo).

As for me I can't understand Beni & Clara at all. They are so good to see the wrong in the others but not their own. I can't forget that Clara is indirectly responsible for Berta's death and her accusations are really low and mean.

Beni has never held the same job for long. I keep expecting him to get himself fired from the job and come crashing back to reality in his life priorities.

It seems that Beni's new found income has changed him into a dominating "monster" towards Max. Max though, as not made any friendly overtures towards Beni in a long time. Beni though, needs Max, I think in end, however, Beni will come to realize that it is Max who is most important to him, not his new found wealth. Clara is just as bad as Beni is right now, as she almost smiled at Beni after he slaps lago (which is interesting) There seems to be a new Beni-Clara relationship forming here?
