well, they've already done a lot differently. The guy Chloe kissed at the club didn't die in the books, only went to the hospital (I think) and it states that they die when a mai and human mate. Also, Jasmine was never in the books. Hope Chloe and Alek get together in the show. The show is already better than the books.

Towards the end of the book, Chloe falls in love with Alek and she is kissin him and all that. Brian ends up in the hospital after Chloe finds him near a dump trash thing and she kisses him but he doesn't die.
