This is my car trying to catch up to the line on stage 9, it was faster then it looks on this (remember I'm on High Performance all season tires, these were not made for the sheets of ice I was on)

I realize now how full of myself I sound,
The comment I make about "being better then some of the drivers" the ESPN rally blogger made that comment to me back at the corner. I see what he ment to some extent.

  • I love how dissenting pistatios can be about how well you're driving against rally car racers.

  • yah... I was on a bit of a rush and making an ass of myself.

  • that's surprising, I made it up the ice hill from the spectator's area of stage 3 without problem twice and If you read some of the forums a lot of people got stuck there keep in mind I'm driving in a stock 1991 Honda civic si with shot shocks and bridgestone g009 tires and have never driven in a rally. I apologize, I was under the impression that the teams and brought snow tires

  • Lets put you on gravel tires like them (which become like plastic in snow) and see if they are as sucky as you think ;)

  • they weren't on gravel tires, they were on snow tires, only reason they weren't on studded was because the rules didn't allow it for this rally. and read my comments about the video, I admit to sounding like an ass hole, thanks for reading and being well informed before making wise-ass comments

  • oh a lot of us did, those who didnt have them bought out every snow tire for probably 500 miles around Salem, which I guess left some people without snows.

We had hakkas and AWD and even we had to claw our way up that hill on stage.

  • I know, I was a competitor there, and had buddies who were running gravel tires...

Some of the smaller teams were unable to get snows in time and had to race on gravels, a few even DNFed because they couldn't climb the hill after the hairpin right.

And I wasn't making a wise ass comment, just pointing out that some teams were extremely slow because they were on plastic tires.
