@jdaus58, maybe I have lived in the Soviet Union for the first 16 years of my life and have tasted the pleasures of Marxism on my own skin.
And also maybe I have been going to American universities for too long and have seen too much foolishness going on there.

I'll tip my hat to the new constitution
Take a bow for the new revolution
Smile and grin at the change all around me
Pick up my guitar and play
Just like yesterday
And I'll get on my knees and pray
We don't get fooled again
Don't get fooled again
Perhaps those who are fooled again and again are themselves guilty of it - they are eager and willing to be fooled.

@jdaus58, the more things change, the more they remain the same.
Clearly, the Middle East is having its own 1848 moment. And where did all the 1848 revolutions end up?
But that was nothing compared to where these revolutions will end up.
All I can say to the (relatively few) good people of Tunisia, Egypt, Bahrain, etc. is "run for your lives."
How did that song go?

And if truth is missing - who cares.

But when Marx describes Paris commune not the way it was, this is unforgivable. It was right there on his watch.
M&E deserve a footnote in history, nothing more.
Yet thousands of corrupt professors daily brainwash empty minds of millions of students in Marxist faith. It's easier that way. No need for critical thinking or reevaluation of "truths" learned long ago. Plus, playing to innate juvenile rebelliousness makes professor popular among his students. What could be better?

Millions upon millions have been killed by those trying again and again to put their theories into practice. The countries built on that slaughter have bit the dust, economically and ideologically, and in some cases literally.
Practically everything they wrote is wrong. It is forgivable when they describe hunter-gatherers or ancient Rome not they way they were - this is how those societies were thought of in their time.

@jdaus58, right, Marx and Engels, the twin deities of dialectical materialism.
Engels died in 1895, Marx in 1883. Over 100 years have passed. Since then, science and philosophy have moved on, form deterministic views to probabilistic and then to chaos theory. Marxist theories have been blown into bits by Marxists themselves, starting with their main pupil Eduard Bernstein.

@Kurtlane better you read Marx & Engels again. And understand, what they said/wrote... Maybe you´re influenced by the traditional understanding of what communism means. Anyway, have a great day!
-
@Kurtlane - Yes, the world is changing! See Egypt, see the near east, Bahrein, Tuesia and more are coming...! The change is on it´s way and can´t be stopped.
I think it is a wonderful idea and should be explored as a concept in school towards developing global community cohesion and world peace.

"[It will be the] old absolutist tradition ... but in a different clothes and with new slogans and catch-phrases... There will be only one shepherd with an iron crook and one identically shorn, identically bleating human herd."
Heinrich Heyne, upon talking to early Communists)
Maybe these particular types haven't yet spilled blood. But they will.
This is a cult. As dangerous as any other typical cult. Maybe more dangerous.
