This makes me cry everytime! Mom's filming, btw.
But yes, I write word for word on his speeches...takes me hours of fustration trying to figure out what he says when he says "...make the commitment...blahblahblah". And this, BY FAR, has been his best speech I've heard out of all the concerts I have been to that consists of this speech. Makes me tear up :( This boy is so strong. This child, this MAN! Hah. Seriously though, he is a man in a teenager's body. I can't imagine what his life was like when he got diagnosed at the age of 13, especially at the time when they were struggling to pay the gas and get enough people at their concerts. I don't know, but I can truly say that he's a big inspiration. Just like he says so in his speech ;) Maybe even a hero. A word people take out of exagerration. But truly...a hero. One that changes peoples lives for the better. Who wants nothing but to help and give hope and strength and someone to look up to. I don't think I can ever thank him enough.

Ya know, sometimes in life, sometimes,
you get thrown and unexpected curve ball.
That's what happened to me about 4 years ago-
when i got diagnosed with type one diabetes.
When I started to see the symptoms, I didn't know what it was.
Then I went to go see my doctor.
She walked in the room, with test results that would confirm
that I was ,in fact, a diabetic.
So I looked back at her and asked the most honest question,
I've ever had to ask in my life.
I looked back at her and said "Am I gonna die?"
and she looked back at me
with tears in her own eyes and said "No you'll be alright."
She went on to say this was
something I'd have to live with for the rest of my life.
So I grabbed my things and went straight to the hospital
where I would spend the next portion of that week.
But on my way to the hospital that night,
I made a commitment to myself.
I made a commitment that I would never,
never let this slow me down.
That night when I got diagnosed,
I did not look at myself as child with a disease,
but I looked at myself as a child with a dream.
For a lot of you here tonight,
I'm sure you're thinking,
"Well, he's still just a child."
But I can tell you one thing,
this child is not slowing down.
So when that moment comes in your life
and you need to make the commitment to press on in the midst of hard times,
I want you to promise me one thing here tonight,
that if it's the only thing you leave with after the show,
I want you to promise me that when the fight gets tough
and the hill gets steeper,
that you will NEVER let it slow you down.
Cause I believe in you.
I wanna thank all of you here tonight for believing in me.
I want you to know, that when you come up and tell me that
telling my story and singing this song has inspired you,
what you may not know , that all of you here and around the world,
are my inspiration.
And I love you from the bottom of my heart.

ur right, this probably is one of his best speeches. I'm left speechless right now. This whole video gave me the chills. Who says that a 16 year old can't be someones hero?He IS Superman. If everyone had a heart like he did, the world would be an amazing place.
