Jehovah's Witness v Atheist - "Evolution is a LIE because....."

After being stopped by some Jehovah's Witnesses in the street, I agreed to their offer of a home study. As an atheist I was intrigued as to what they might have in store in terms of evidence and supporting argument. These videos contain the recordings of those visits and the arguments they presented..

Jehovah's Witnesses do not allow themselves to be taped for distribution. Elders and officials handle this (speaking for the organization).

I am a Biologist, a non-believer in Evolution, and one of Jehovah's Witnesses. As much as I know and could readily and handily tackle this subject convincingly and using only Science, I would not speak for the Society. I question the tape.

I love how you make them think about their own arguments, and I cringe listening to them trying to make sense of their own beliefs.

I love how they try to form a logical argument and when its pointed out that it is illogical they simply deny the fallacy exists. You're just owning them by pointing out the contradictions. Good job! I'm glad I'm no longer a JW. I feel lucky to have escaped the bonds of childhood indoctrination and be a happy and moral atheist.

The simple fact of the matter, though, is that you have absolutely no evidence that there is only one God, that his name is Jehovah, and that Christ is the saviour of all. I repeat: no evidence whatsoever.

@sunnyforever2 There is one God Jehovah, the maker of all things and one Jesus Christ, the savior of us all. We all make choices. Some will reap the benefit and some will suffer the consequences of choices we make. But not even Jehovah will take away your right to make choices.

You may choose to listen to some with PHDs who say Evolution is right. You may listen to the PHDs that say Evolution is wrong. In the end Jehovah says that ALL will know his NAME. It is your choice when you learn.

@togjuice Natural selection starts with the developed cell (Natural selection is not true Science. Adaption is true science.)

Before a cell is invented you must have varying degrees of chance occurrences to gather the guts that will eventually form a cell. That is why Evolutionist shy away from pre-cell evolution and become "calamity howlers" after the cell is produced. Again, how do you explain Altruism and Left- Right Handed Amino Acids? Throw in a functioning eye for good measure.

@sunnyforever2 You claim to be a biologist then say that evolution "relies on blind chance"? Seriously? The mechanism for driving evolution - natural selection - is the very OPPOSITE of blind chance.

@togjuice Evolution is outside of intelligence since it relies on blind chance. Evolutionists do not think that intelligence engineered design. The evidence is clear, however. You stop at a STOP SIGN because of an invisible intelligent law giver. You do not JUMP off a high building also because the Law of Gravity has an invisible intelligent Law Giver. The intelligence behind the Law of Gravity is much greater than the intelligence behind a STOP SIGN. The GOD point.
