my favorite part was the bit about living in the moment. I found that even when something funny was said around me it used to be so difficult to connect with my surroundings. I lived in the past evey waking moment. That's the most difficult part about depression. Moving on.
I totally agree that the cure to depression is to alter your lifestyle. She made alot of great points in this video. I started lifting at the gym and doing that on a regular schedule helps me. I think a purpose/regular schedule in life is important. Be productive and feel good about what you do. I also supplement with MoodBoost Drink and that in combination with the other changes seems to really have helped.
I have a problem with her recommendation of 5-HTP. That herbal supplement is a very powerful drug. It literally can make symptoms worse, and if you are going to take it, make sure it is prescribed, as it can exascerbate your problem immensely.
Seriously, it is not to be messed with.
I also believe that her advice is rather dangerous. It is rather half informed.
I agree. Before you start taking anything that alters the brain chemistry, you should consult a mental health professional (preferably a psychiatrist). That way, in case it backfires, they know why it backfired and can help you fix the problem.
"That's life and you have to live it and you have to experience it." Hmmmmmm. I know that people say this, but I don't see where it's written as logic or law....in fact......I can point out the opposite. Of course it's personal and case specific not a general rule for everyone. So I suppose she's right for her, but I'm not sure she accurate to other peoples' cases.
anyone who thinks they are unable to quit their job and start anew needs to realize just what this thing called life can really be. who says you gotta do the 9-5. i lived in a tent for 3 years by choice, traveling the country. best time of my life. and now im back in a house, feeling kinda like shit. but i just think back on those times and smile, i know i could return to that anytime i really want to. haha!
