@MadamCadaver I think that was a portion of the poem that was supposed to get a little more serious. Notice the tone has been humorous, but then he starts saying thank you for things that sound sarcastic: "Thank you for road rage, thank you for teaching us the most important lesson... [etc.]" Also, given the past tense of the verb "liked", I take it to mean that this supposed great thing coming from the city of angels had a fatal effect on his friend, Angela.
