I have to agree that its clever, bitting and smart especially for that time period but even today an unlike many of the contemporary "comedians" he does it without profanity and cheap sex jokes. I can see were his comedic style and pace would escape some people.

Once during an interview Emo was wearng 1 of those cheesy Michael Jackson jackets that were sold @ K-Mart during the1990s. When the interviewer mentioned it Emo replied "Oh, does Michael Jackson hve a jacket like this too?" Brilliant with 4 sure!

I love how people are trying to act like intellectuals just because they appreciate Emo Phillips. Some of the people in the comments act like they're going to put "I understand Emo Phillips jokes" on their resumes. Seriously, guys, it's fucking comedy. You're not of a superior race if you enjoy it.
