Gameplay from the NES version of Baseball Stars, emulated in NEStopia.

This might be the best sports game ever. It might. Good graphics for the time, the ability to create teams and name players, trading players between created teams, training players with money earned through gameplay, women's and co-ed teams... how many games these days have all this?

I want a modern Baseball Stars. How about you?

  • Man, the Monkeys got really spanked in that game. :-/ Seriously, though, it's probably the greatest baseball game ever. I still own it. :)

    ...I C WUT U DID THAR

But yes, probably the greatest baseball game ever. Mostly because it does more things correctly than modern ones.

  • This was the first console baseball game that actually tracked stats. That was my favorite part of the game along with the ability to rob home runs.

  • At one point in my childhood the game was the ONLY thing that mattered lol.

My freinds and I took it so seriously that we actually get pissed off at each other and got into fights because of this game. It was terrible when you lost a game because you wouldnt get to power up and your freind would! And then you'd be screwed!

  • This was a great game, played it a ton when I was ~8 years old. Problem is, I played it so much that the "runners in scoring position" music bored into the deepest corners of my mind. It was only about 6 measures long, so it could repeat hundreds of times if you played for a few hours.

I just caught myself humming that music this afternoon, probably the first time in over a decade. Had to come find this video on youtube to make sure that the music came from here and I wasn't going mad.

  • I used to love playing this game and making seasons. The one thing I hated more than all was turning on the game to find my data erased.

But with this game, I think it's safe to say that this game was one of the greatest to hit a console. I remember setting seasons up with the Ladies as one of the teams as a guaranteed prestige -- beating the ladies for an upstart team helped bring in more than any of their other premade teams.

  • @PJSkins26

I used to create a team and play the lovely ladies over and over again on two player to build the ultimate team! Used to use the ten run rule and get lots of $ in a short time. I spent most of my time building teams and less on actual gameplay. Best game ever!

  • The Lovely Ladies looked like men when they were on base or out on the field but looked like ladies when someone was pitching or up to bat. I could never understand that.

  • great game

  • this game was the shit back in the day

  • I can't remember but there was another BB game I played on a NES once.

It was a 1 of fours game sin a gold catraidge

  • @slap1328 I agree and you were able to create your own teams and name the players as well!!!

  • What they need to do is make this game available to download on the Wii Virtual Console... They would sell SO many copies... I have this game on the original NES but my sister has the system and I can't play it that often. I would buy this game in a heart beat if I had the chance...
