No, we don't die but whales are recyclers off the ocean, whit out whales the sea will be contaminated with plankton and krill and things like the red tide (marea roja) would be a big problem. Every creature in the world have a purpose in the world, and we are different 'couse we have knowledge and we can choose what we do, that's why we must think what we do as human society and individual. I hope you understand what i try to say.

you must realize how the whole world is connected right? think about it for a little bit and hopefully you will understand. If something is changed within a close balanced environment, everything else in the environment will be affected.
"if whales die we die" statement may not be literal but it does have some truth.
