Disney's fantastical adventure "Oz The Great and Powerful," directed by Sam Raimi, imagines the origins of L. Frank Baum's beloved character, the Wizard of Oz. When Oscar Diggs (James Franco), a small-time circus magician with dubious ethics, is hurled away from dusty Kansas to the vibrant Land of Oz, he thinks he's hit the jackpot—fame and fortune are his for the taking—that is until he meets three witches, Theodora (Mila Kunis), Evanora (Rachel Weisz) and Glinda (Michelle Williams), who are not convinced he is the great wizard everyone's been expecting. Reluctantly drawn into the epic problems facing the Land of Oz and its inhabitants, Oscar must find out who is good and who is evil before it is too late. Putting his magical arts to use through illusion, ingenuity—and even a bit of wizardry—Oscar transforms himself not only into the great and powerful Wizard of Oz but into a better man as well.

    Beauty is subjective.

Stupidity arguably is objective. That means you.

I wonder if this movie will hint at the arrival of Dorothy at the very end. You know, kind of like how The Joker was referenced at the very end of Batman Begins.

Jesus Christ died on the cross & paid the penalty for all your sins & my sins, He was buried, and rose on the 3rd day. Because of Jesus' atonement, you're completely forgiven of every sin you ever committed or will commit. Jesus offers you His gift of salvation through faith. You come as you are, He will never reject you. He is waiting for you to turn to Him. If you receive His gift, your name will be written in the Lamb's Book of Life & you will go to heaven after you die. God loves you.

In the MGM 1939 film when you see the Wicked Witch close-up as she is writing Surrender Dorothy in the sky the actress was actually raised up high into the air on her broom and the sky writing was actually done too by an airplane. Also in Munchkinland the fire was real when she disappeared and she was lowered into the ground by an elevator. It's 2013 and Disney is a Billion dollar company so they could have done way better with their effects, script and movie as a whole just saying.

im thinking More happened with Theodora then they let on, cause look at her name if you say it backwards. I think the next movie we find out Theodora is pregnant and some how Oz gets the baby and Glinda figures out how to send it back to Kansas where is raised by the Gales. It would explain how dorothy and the wizard are both from kansas and why we never see her parents.

I think that's how the sequel should start if you ask me. Theodora makes the silver shoes for Evanora, which makes her young and powerful again. Together they both go to Munchkinland and kill everyone in the land except for the Munchkins, which explains the red brick road when Dorothy gets there, and every bad deed Theodora does makes her uglier and evil.

Don't waste your money on this Hot Mess of a very BAD, BORING & WAY TOO LONG movie if you have not already done so. I usually love anything having to do with Oz and could not wait to see this film and boy was I disappointed... bad script, bad story, pointless & stupid characters and most of the movie special effects are just simply CGI and done on a computer not like the 1939 Oz film that actually did everything real. Disney himself would turn over in his grave. Not even worth seeing it once!!

In the bit where its black and white, Oz's crush says she's marrying "John Gale", she might be Dorothies mother or grandmother.
