Dan Sheehan hands off his guitar to original Banter lead guitarist Lance Vallis at the band's 2010 reunion to let Lance rip through this barnstomper from the band's "Side One" EP. This is the first time Lance played with the band since their early days in the late 1990s, and he did pretty well considering it was unplanned and unrehearsed! You can tell that drummer Joe Smith was pretty excited about this surprise!
The song is inspired by Sheehan's childhood memories from living in Wyomissing, Pennsylvania near Reading, PA.
words and music by Dan Sheehan
Rolling down through the Claireville countryside
I could see the stars and moon were on my side
I remember the place where I saw your face come out of the rain
Stay here, go away
What's that? What you say?
I can't tell anymore...
Rolling down through the Claireville countryside
I remember times we laughed and times we cried
I remember the breeze that blew through the trees
And whispered of pain
Come back, go away
What's that? What you say?
I won't tell anyone...
Rolling down through the Claireville countryside
All my friends and enemies were side by side
I remember the breeze that blew through the trees
And whispered of pain
Come back, go away
What's that? What you say?
I won't tell anyone...
Rolling down through the Claireville countryside
All my thoughts and hopes and dreams were swept aside
I remember the breeze that blew through the trees
And whispered your name
