What the the eventual cue you give when in the saddle with no rope a pull on the left rein?

i know the hobble is to train the horse, but hobbles are turture in my book

im going to start teaching my gelding to do this. hes very intelligent and well mannered on the lead line but lunging him and free lunging him he likes to get a little playful and assertive. is there anything i can do to fix him playing up when lunging without being super aggressive back?

wish it was that easy with my horse. He never does stuff like that. Wish he did! :(
