I came upon a child of god
He was walking along the road
And I asked him, where are you going
And this he told me
Im going on down to yasgurs farm
Im going to join in a rock n roll band
Im going to camp out on the land
Im going to try an get my soul free
We are stardust
We are golden
And weve got to get ourselves
Back to the garden

The Garden of Eden has become the Hell of Torture and Big Brother - learning is not always most people's thing so the hippy dream turnend into big business. - "Look at mother nature going down in the 21first century ..." - We come from stones, plants and animals ("carbon"), evolution will go on without us, in the spiritual dimenson the materialistic people won't have a place. The Evolution of God continues, Music can sometimes show a little bit of it - maybe some of us will get there ...

As good as CK is, she does not come close to JM. JM ,literaly, transcends human form, and becomes an element, much like mercury or the wind. She lives in two worlds at once-human and spiritual. Mitchell is poet and wordsmith, and yes, "her uncomprimising artistic vision sets her apart" ...as J. Santiago, says below.

With all due respect, no and no again. As talented as CK is, she is not in the same realm as JM. King's music is excellent craftsmanship sometimes elevated to the level of art. JM's music is the definition of art. The poetry that is like a laser beam lighting and dissecting the human condition, the daring music and searching soul, the unique vocal quality and style, and her uncompromising artistic vision set her apart from all but a few 20th Century composers and performers.

Certainly the most under-rated and under-appreciated. Herbie Hancock, who was Miles' pianist during his modal period, recorded an entire album of her songs recently.
