Somebody wrote to ask me if the twin flame relationship can be mistaken to be obsession. While the underbelly of the twin flame meeting is obsession, feelings of obsession don't mean that we have met our twin flame. Obsession is a trap and many get stuck there. Another word is addiction. It's the ego and that has to be transcended. Some people with the twin flame energy cannot transcend the ego and thus stay in obsession. Those who stay in obsession are most likely not true twin flames.

@emergegrowprosper One moves out of obsession and emotional addiction by surrendering all shock, anxiety, anger, etc. to God until there is no more surrendering to be done. We must not avoid our feelings of loss, abandonment, betrayal, fury, etc. but instead be still and feel them. We must be courageous enough to seek the root cause of these painful feelings as they almost always stem from childhood. This is how our twin helps us to purify at the soul level and return to harmony with God.

Can the running happen right from the beginning, like even before proper communication takes place?

@makeover83 The running indeed cannot happen right from the beginning. The Recognition and Temporary Awakening stage will happen first to both parties and be somehow acknowledged by both before the Runner stage gets triggered. For example each twin will communicate or demonstrate a sense of feeling "out of character" or as if the other is strangely familiar, comfortable, or hypnotic. This is the first phase. Next, the fears and doubt creep in, which create the runner dynamic. I hope that helps!

@Chrislm89 Old paradigms of relationship would be our outdated definition of what couplehood should be, what marriage should be, what romantic love should be. Our learned cultural views of love are mostly conditional. The new paradigm of relationship is unconditional love, which includes loving the self enough to let our beloved go to grow in his or her own time and in his or her own way.
