CIWS sea-whiz on the USS Enterprise CVN-65

The Phalanx CIWS (Close-in weapon system) or "Sea-whiz" is a naval shipboard weapon system for detecting and destroying incoming anti-ship missiles and enemy aircraft at short range. The gun fires 3000+ rounds per minute. This was a firing demonstration on board the USS Enterprise CVN-65.

actually thats the Starboard side of the ship< this angle is facing towards the back of the ship. you can clearly see the island on the right side of the ship. Island are always on the right (starboard side) of all carriers.

Pretty sure that's the port side. those things are usually mounted on the bow of the ship.
