Used to sit behind guitarist ‘batty’ in geography—Saw him last decades ago in St Helens, whilst wandering about ill, and thought the world thought I was finished, I was nothing, I was gone, I was a crater from an accidental bomb. I was time chewing on its own ankles needing to do something with its teeth and not knowing quite what they were for or which way to point them. Got on a bus and went to Southport. Where I’d used to get drunk in my teens and run about the fair like God geese on fire.

I've loved every song I've heard from these guys, and it's sad they never got the break they so richly deserved.

@MrKekker Lol! Cool thought, now that he's retired maybe we'll get a chance to see him do it for real.

Always wondered what Paul Scholes did before he played football, obviously a budding young bassist, lol!!!!
Top song though.

I love this song. In Spain there were well known, only those who had satellite TV and it was worth having it only to see masters of the melody as they were this unforgettable group.

i love this song, but they bounce around too much. plus, i think they lip-sinced this.
still, great song.

I saw them in Salt Lake City in 1991. Way fun. This music needs to be re-released. Way better than the crap my kids like.
They were superb, unfortunately they looked too posh and were 4 years after the Smiths and 4 years before britpop and suffered because of it.
