Message from Modbury

Residents from the town of Modbury --
the first place in Britain to outlaw plastic bags -- urge Los Angeles to do the same.

Why? Plastic bags are a major source of marine debris, annually killing more than 1 million seabirds, 100,000 marine mammals and countless fish through ingestion or entanglement.

In addition, plastic litters our beaches creating an ugly scene which costs cities considerable funds to clean up.
