This is my first day of treatment, my 3rd day in Costa Rica. I had the "mini lipo" this morning, and now I am back at CIMA Hospital to receive my first intrethecal injection of adult stems cells derived from donated umbilical cord blood.

I'm not quite sure about this whole injection into my spinal cord! Sounds pretty painful, but I'm here now, and there's no turning back :)

I am scheduled for 8 stem cell injections over 4 weeks.

  • I am sort of confused about the umblical stem cells because they are somebody else's I have been warned not to go for them because with that treatment the patient is more at risk to get tumours or cancer.

If I am wrong could somebody please shine some light as I have been young to be suffering from ms I was 14/15 when it started now I am 23 just feeling a bit depressed when I look out of the window to see what I can't do at the moment.

  • I had no chemo or radiation. That's one thing that really drove me to look at stem cell therapy outside the United States.

I had 8 intrathecal injections of stem cells that were harvested from donated umbilical cord blood and then I had 2 IV infusions of my own stem cells that were harvested from my own fat tissue.
