  • Yes service manuals will state many stupid things, but what I have learned over many years is not in any service manual. I prefer to do a few heat cycles on all fresh engines before I rev the engine too much.

Trust me high revs on a fresh engine, you can cause some damage.

  • @satelliter440 Try listening to the engine instead of watching the rev counter. Like many old rev counters it as lost its damping and hence reads very high when blipping the throttle. The bike is probably revving to about 4000 rpm on peaks not the 10000 rpm the rev counter says. Then again I know nowt about tz yams. Only built and raced them for over 30 years. Try checking my other videos , You will see my own bikes. Blue tz 350 and Red / white tz 750

  • i love the 2 strokers twins, tripples and this beast! i wish it was on my banshee

why didnt you use flat slide carbs?,

  • @musiclovr2 No flat slides because the bike is a tz 750 and tz 750,s were not built with flat slide carbs. They were built with the same carbs as fitted to this bike. I wanted to build a tz 750 not some sort of mongrel machine. Unfortunately some parts are unavailable and have to be changed but no problem getting the correct carbs.

  • That two stroke sound...nothing better!

  • I made the pipes for this bike. The bike came to me as a collection of parts and I rebuilt it including making quite a number of parts for it ,the pipes being one of the things I made.

  • RARE! What an amazing machine. I used to fantasize about owning one when I was a kid. Good job I never got hold of one coz I'm sure I wouldn't still be here........not in one piece anyhow!

  • das ist ja mal ein richtig geiles gerät...

  • love the sound of it, I admitt I'm not a fan of yamaha vehicles but this could not be loved...

WOW DUDE !!! How does one make a comment like this after seeing AND HEARING a perfectly dialed in machine like this?? He put this awesome machine together from a box of parts, and what was missing he built by hand. Do you understand the work and commitment that goes into a project like this? Unbelievable statement!!!

  • @satelliter440

You obviously know nothing of what Yamaha states in the service manual for their road racers.

  • First start up on a fresh rebuild, reving it like that is just stupid.

  • @shakennstirred Check out what I origionally said in my post: No flat slides because the bike is a tz 750 and tz 750,s were not built with flat slide carbs. They were built with the same carbs as fitted to this bike. I wanted to build a tz 750 not some sort of mongrel machine. Unfortunately some parts are unavailable and have to be changed but no problem getting the correct carbs.

  • @shakennstirred The wheels are astralite not Maxton. They were made at the time these bikes were raced. Hence they are period wheels and correct fitment for the bike. Yes the 750,s came with wire wheels but the wheels were particular to that bike. The total number of tz 750,s ever made was just over 500 bikes. Many of which got effectively destroyed. If you think you can still get some origional 750 wheels then I am afraid you will be sadly mistaken.
