I think Tucker is a great singer, but like fellow S-K bandmate Carrie Brownstein, she just doesn't understand where her vocal limitations are. There are videos on here that make me cringe, just like this one at 2:53. Great rock voice, but needs to think about when she does it. 'Doubt' has loads of places to screech in that will sound good!

It's a problem Corin frequently complained about on tour with Sleater-Kinney - the soundguys kept turning her voice down in the mix, sometimes even leading to her being unable to hear herself (singers hate this as they need to hear themselves, if they can't they overcompensate and end up straining their voice).

The vocal mix is wrong. I just listened to this group's NPR review. Her voice is burried in the mix. Sing out and make your words audible and clean. YOU SOUND LIKE MUD.
