The reason they started playing it is in the 1998-1999 school year they filled in for FSU at a college football game at The Medowlands. How would i know is because i had a lot of friends in the band when i went ther 1997-2001.

Question: You are the Escambia Gators, correct? Why on earth are you playing the war chant? I'm pretty sure there is a reasonable explanation behind it - most likely tracing back through school traditions. I would think that you would play a version of "Jaws" to complement your mascot.

honestly, i have no idea why. its just tradition. whats even more confusing is, while we're playing war chant we're doing the gator. great mix, eh?
