This is a feature I'm working that will eventually be integrated in the level importer: a 3D preview of your level so you can set the scaling and other parameters.

  • Frauber is dead. Or just living his live.

  • @bowserking64 Let him R.I.P

  • Will this be available in a future update, frauber? If you could, it would be pretty cool to be able to select a certain face and add a fog for just certain faces. That is pretty much the same as lighting affects, if you were to add a moderate black fog to a face that could use shadow. This could also show exactly where your model will be when you offset it, so I don't have to repeat the procedure of testing it on PJ64. Your work is almost complete, and you will go down in history.

  • @cpuHacka101 It's been months since I last touched anything related to SM64 hacking, my life is too busy nowadays for it. Whenever I have time and interest for it I'll finish the 3D preview stuff, unfortunately it won't be very comprehensive (settings this kind of effect would require the entire importer to be completely reprogrammed), but still it will be of great help for those importing levels.

  • Will there ever be a time where shading will be implemented into the models? Like, depending on the camera's perspective, will some walls appear darker than others?

  • @Chancer4ever Sorry, I never got that to work decently. Even when importing the vertex normals and enabling lightning, the results are just weird. The original game seems to use it rather sparingly.

Also, I'm not sure how accurate is the lightning produced by emulator video plug-ins..

  • Question. Is this how you made your maps in SM64: Missing Stars? I know of Toads Tool 64 but it doesn't edit from scratch like this (I think). Sorry for the noob question. :-(

  • @frauber Just realized that I spelled "life" wrong. :S

  • @frauber sweet. Yeah, I understood you were taking a break. Thanks for everything

  • @SuperSimspons Yeah, I am the same!

  • This must be Mario 64 Level importer V16 onwards.
