Commissioner Larry Scott announced today that STANFORD junior outside hitter Alix Klineman has been named the Pac-10 Womens Volleyball Player of the Week for Sept. 28-Oct. 4.

With Conference play in full swing, Klineman led 11th-ranked Stanford to a pair of wins over ranked teams, No. 16 UCLA and No. 13 USC. In Fridays matchup between two storied programs, the Cardinal extended their winning streak over the Bruins to 18 matches. The Manhattan Beach, Calif., native tied a then-season-high with 23 kills on a career-high 65 attempts. Also in the match, she tallied 10 digs, giving the All-American her third double-double of the season and five solo blocks. Against USC, a match televised on FSN, Klineman turned in another huge performance posting a season-high 24 kills and registering 11 digs for her second straight double-double.

For the weekend, the junior outside hitter totaled 47 kills, 21 digs, six solo blocks and 53 points for the Cardinal. Klineman ranks sixth in the Conference in kills per set with 3.67.

This is the third weekly honor for Klineman, and Stanfords Conference leading 68th all-time Player of the Week.
