I used to avoid Harry Potter entirely but then a friend loaned me the books. If you read then you'd feel differently (maybe). I can't imagine understanding what was going on in the movies without the prior knowledge. Even having read the books I forgot things that were important! And yes, the older versions of the kids were ridiculous.

Crazy old people don't read email, they get messages elsewhere (ie. random news clipping found the bottom of bird cages, mailbox graffiti and cats).
Do you yell at kids playing ball hockey on the street? That's the true crazy old person test.
She killed Snape in that movie, I have never forgiven her for that.

i don't like science fiction or fantasy really. i saw about 20 mins of the first harry potter and it seemed compelling enough but i didnt need to see more.
